Puppy Love

Tonight is my first night home alone without my husband. As he is away in California with the team, I keep thinking about how much I love having him around- and miss him when he's gone. And then I realized, I have loved having him around for quite some time now.

7 years and 2 days ago, my family threw me a surprise 16th Birthday Party. Much to my excitement, the cutest, quietest, most athletic-est, puffy hair-est, brown boy at school was in attendance. I had a huge crush on that Robbie Mitchell.

Lucky for me, he had a thing for me too! And exactly 7 years ago today,  he asked me to be his girlfriend. (a great story in itself). It is so funny to look back and realize that we really hardly knew each other at the time... But there was just something about that boy that I was drawn to from the beginning.

I don't think in my wildest sixteen year old dreams could I imagine that one day, 7 years later, I would be more than happily married in a tropical paradise to that same puffy haired boy that I smiled at in the hallway. I am still drawn to him in every way, and am so glad he mustered up the courage to "ask me out" on December 15, 2005.

Here's to that first "puppy love"- that sometimes becomes the most real, perfect, eternal love you did always dream of.

Missing you tonight!

December Already?

Somewhere along the lines of finishing my student years and moving to an island, I completely lost track of time...
 Is it really December already?!
Fall is a whole new season (or lack of season?) here in Hawaii. Our "fall" has been filled with lots of great things, including

a fun breast cancer awareness 5k

 Some North Shore Lovin'

really embracing our Saved by the Bell costumes...

making fun new halloween traditions with our favorite friends

a crazy tsunami scare!

Convertible rides to Aloha Stadium to cheer on the Kahuku Red Raiders.

Island Champs!

Our first Thanksgiving!
samoan style roasted turkey... mmm!

And plenty of this  :)

It has been a fall to remember.
Now it's time to get in the holiday spirit before Christmas sneaks up on me too!

Birthday Princess

October 28th has a special place in my heart.

It was on this day 3 years ago that I became an AUNT for the 1st time,
as Miss Brynlee Michelle Bermudez entered the world!
October 28th, 2009. Party in the Hospital!

Bryn Bryn instantly became my best girl, and I could hardly stay away from her!
And then she turned one...

October 28th, 2010. A great 1st Birthday Bash!

Brynaboo continued to grow, becoming funnier and spunkier every day.
Before we knew it, she was two!

October 28th, 2011. Celebrating TWO as we head to the ZOO!

Another year has already passed, and my Lee Lee is now THREE!
October 28th is always a party, and it is killing me that on this special day, I'm so far away from the Birthday Girl. I am missing her terribly, but am so happy to reminisce on the last three years and this cutie girl's little life. She has been such a blessing to me, and I love her with my whole heart!
Thank goodness for Birthday Packages & Skype, making me feel not so far away.
October 28th, 2012. The Birthday Princess in all her Glory.

So Happy Birthday Miss Brynlee, Boo Boo, Bryn Bryn, Lee Lee!

Love, Heetie

the start of something new

Today is an exciting day.

It is the First Day of the season for

Seasider Basketball!

Robbie has been working out and playing with the team since we got to Hawaii,

(did I mention he ran 2 miles in 12 minutes, did 100 pushups straight, did 80 pound weighted pullups, and has a 44 inch vertical?!... Yep, that's my husband)

but now he has official practice with the coaches, and will be making his debut for the first time since the mish.
This isn't just an exciting thing for Robbie, I think it's about equally exciting for me! Lucky for Robb I grew up in a sporty family where Basketball= Love, and one of my favorite things to do in High School was watch him play (regardless of which sport!)

And today is not only Robb's first day as a Seasider, but it's the first day of the first season that I get to cheer him on as his WIFE!
Pretty exciting stuff.
Looks like i'll have to make a few more fan jerseys with MY name on the back!

I can't wait for him to get home from practice so I can ask him all kinds of questions about it! (Probably his very favorite thing)
We'll see if he's still got it.
(atleast i know he's got a new hairdo!)

Go Seasiders!

Monthiversary

A lot can happen in a month.

You can get married...
(Oh Happy Day!)

Fly to your Hawaiian Honeymoon...

Move in to a slightly ghetto but great apartment...
How 'bout that green blanky?

(Never leaving your Hawaiian Honeymoon...!)

You can start at a new school...
(cutie first day of school husband!)

Buy your first car!

Hike 2800 ft in nearly 4000 steps...

Get a Job...

Only to quit then start another job?

Then go out and celebrate all the jobs!

A lot can happen in a month, and ours has been full of Sunshine & Happiness.

So why not blog about it?
